Aim of this course

To provide an update on the latest development within infection prevention and control guidelines and consider current prevention measures in practice.

To reinforce the importance of ‘The Code of Practice’ on the prevention and control of Infection in line with HTM01-05 & HTM01-07.

Course Objectives

By end of the session:

Learners will understand the importance of Infection Control
Learners will be able demonstrate the decontamination cycle.
Learners will understand the importance of record keeping with regard to Infection control.
Infection control policy review
Inoculation injuries
Review of N.I.C.E clinical guidelines relevant to sharp containers and waste disposal including new regulations
Practice audit cycle review.

Learning Content

This training session is intended to create an understanding of the decontamination cycle and the need to apply effective infection control measures in the dental setting and reduce potential risk factors to both patients and members of staff.
